The Gilleand Brothers To Release A 2nd Christmas Special

That’s right, you heard it right, folks, The Gilleand Brothers just announced that they will have their second Christmas Special in 5 years.

Their first Christmas Special was released in 2007, hosted by WTMG. The idea was simple, a recreation of their classic short films, shot as kids with a special holiday twist. There was also brand new short films for Extraordinary and The Matrix Revealed, also sporting the Christmas Spirit. The first film also introduced David Gilleand’s first ever Annual Holiday PSA, which he has been doing ever since.

In 2008, while being away from home at the time,  filmed his own Christmas Special called “The Jolly Jolly Boo Boo Show – Christmas Special”. A throwback to the Jolly Jolly Boo Boo Show seen in the WTMG movie, this introduced old characters, new characters, and of course, had the 2nd Annual Holiday PSA.

2009 and 2010 had no real Christmas Specials other than David’s 3rd and 4th Christmas Special, but they are bringing the Christmas Spirit back to film with “The Gilleand Brother’s Christmas Special 2″

The concept is the same, although it is not hosted by WTMG, but The World According to Me. Years ago, the brothers had an idea to make The World According to Me into a motion picture, but never had the time or energy to do so. So the short films will act as commercials in an overall story centered on The World According to Me, and yes, it all centers around Christmas.

Some things you might want to expect from this feature coming soon, another Matrix Revealed Christmas Short, another Extraordinary Christmas short film, possibly another Stewart A. Pehd short film, even a Buck and Drake Christmas special. More shorts based off the original Gilleand Brother classic films not visited in the first Christmas special, a remake of one of the shorts in the last Christmas Special, and of course, David will have his 5th Annual Holiday PSA.

It should be fun, as the Gilleand Brothers rarely get to just cut back and have fun while filming, stepping out of the realm of seriousness. This Christmas Special is set to release on Christmas Day, 2011.

With the tagline: A Sequel in Time, Buck and Drake III: Buck to the Future visit’s an all new aspect to the idea of time travel in film, as they release their third film before the second.

Plot: Buck must travel to the past to get help from Past-Drake for help in finding Present-Day-Drake, who has since gone missing, mysteriously from the events in the second film, which has not been seen yet.

Buck & Drake III | PRESS RELEASE

The Gilleand Brothers are currently in the pre-production stages of their next full-length feature, the follow-up on Buck and Drake: The Search for Spooks.  Entitled Buck and Drake III: Buck to the Future.

The third film in the franchise will be shot next month and edited shortly thereafter, and you can be sure to see it soon! Yes there was no second film, which doesn’t mean the second one will never be made, this is not the case.

They still plan to film the second film at some point, quite possibly in 2012. Though the second one requires a significant amount of funding in order to take place.  Also, the third film is about time travel, and what better way to make a film than to release the third before the second when it is about time travel?

A Sequel Through Time…

Over a long discussion, the Gilleand Brothers finally agreed on a plotline that would both work well on its own, and as a sequel to the second-currently unmade film.  Stay tuned for more information, as well as a description of the plot.

First official teaser poster

GB, Inc has lifted the lid on its new vision for one of its biggest franchises, announcing “The Story of Stewart A. Pehd”, an origins tale that goes back to the roots of  it’s title character, Stewart Pehd. Promising to tell the story of Stewart’s very first adventure, “The Story of Stewart A. Pehd”, or it’s codename, “SP:5″ will not be a comedy like it’s four previous films. ”Forget everything you knew about Stewart,” said creator David Gilleand. “This is an origins story that creates Agent Pehd and takes him on a character defining journey like no other.”

Not only is this an origin story for Stewart, it’s an origin story for “Hank R. Chief” and “Frank Furter” as well.  How they got to where they were, and what possessed them to turn an innocent human being into a spy.

EXTRAORDINARY – Audio Play?

That’s right, you heard right, the Gilleand Brothers are in works of an Extraordinary Audio Play.  The concept is simply put this – All four novels, written by David Gilleand, will be read aloud by Tim Gilleand, like an audiobook, however, what differs from an average audio book and audio play is as follows:  When their corresponding characters have lines in the book, the Gilleand Brothers will “act-out” their scenes as if it was a film.  They will then add in music and sound effects to add to the effect.

In order for this project to take place, David must go back to Extraordinary: Obsession, and completely re-write the novel, as it is not “ready” to be read quite yet.  It is not yet in novel format, but more like a long summary.  Enough details to go off of.  So look out for “THE EXTRAORDINARY SAGA” in early 2011, as the Gilleand Brother’s first project of the new year.

David Gilleand to ride a bicycle to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota and BACK!

It has been a long time dream for David Gilleand to go to the national landmark, Mount Rushmore.  The idea first came to him in freshman year of high school.  Originally he was going to have a van ride alongside him, and he was going to roller blade there.  Obviously, that plan didn’t go through, and he was unable to make the trip.  Years passed by and he was continually facing defeat.  Though this year, David decided to make the leap, and go ahead to do it.  On September 11th, 2010, David will leave Mishawaka, and will be pedaling the whole way.  Be sure to check out his blog at “daveslife.wordpress.com” for more info on the matter, as well as updates and media.

Check out the official website at RUSHtoRUSHMORE.com.  Below is the press release.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

22-year-old Indiana Resident To Bike 2000 Miles For Riley Hospital
SOUTH BEND, Indiana (August 11, 2010) – David Gilleand will achieve a long standing dream when he crosses the country on bicycle.  Gilleand will leave South Bend, Indiana unaccompanied on Patriot Day Saturday, September 11th, 2010.  The plan has Gilleand reaching his destination of choice Mount Rushmore two weeks later, and returning to his origin after four weeks total of biking close to eight hours per day, a feat comparable to the Tour De France.

The event, titled ‘Rush to Rushmore’, will collect sponsorships to benefit Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis.  Founded in 1924, Riley has more than 245,000 pediatric patient visits per year, and continues to be recognized as one of the top children’s hospitals in the nation.  Riley is affiliated with Clarian Health and the Indiana University School of Medicine.

While on his trip, Gilleand will document his activities via his blog and shoot footage for a forthcoming documentary also titled ‘Rush to Rushmore’.  Producers hope to premiere the film in Indianapolis.  Those who choose to sponsor the event at the $20 or higher level will automatically get a copy of the DVD when it is released.

The Rush to Rushmore event will have a kickoff and return celebration in South Bend, IN.  Further information will be released on the date, time, and location of these events.  Media events along the bike trail will also be made public soon.  Members of the media and public will be invited, and sponsorships will be accepted at each event.

With the tagline ‘Could you ride a bike for 2000 Miles’, David Gilleand is currently training for this endeavor, as he is not a professional cyclist.  His hobbies include filmmaking and writing.  His goals for the event include seeing the country, accomplishing a large feat on his own, and raising money and awareness for Riley Children’s Hospital.  Sponsorships can be made, and progress tracked at www.rushtorushmore.com.
